The
Road to Hallmark
I
began to learn this repair and refinishing trade as a high
school student, working after school, Saturdays, and during
the summer for three years. Subsequently, I graduated from
college as a textile engineer and had a 34-year career in
the textile fiber business.
Retiring
early, I purchased Hallmark Finishing Service in 1990 and
returned to a trade I had continued as an ameteur throughout
the intervening years.
At
Hallmark, we have developed many new and special ways of
repairing broken and damaged furniture. We make specialty
parts, where missing, in order to retore pieces to their
original (and improved) condition. We also keep up with
the new techniques for stripping, and for applying and using
modern precatalized laquer finishes, especially when high
moisture and heat resistant applications are needed.
We
invite you to visit Pepperoni's Tavern at 4190 Old Milton
Parkway, Alpharetta, to see one of our largest and most
unique refinishing and restoration jobs, a massive, antique
bar.
By
contrast, bring us your rickety chairs and let us show you
new gluing techniques that will solve unsafe sitting hazzards.
We
do almost everything except upholstering. We enjoy a challenge,
so bring your tired, shabby, formerly beautiful, much loved
furniture and let us make all things new!!
Finally,
I would be remiss if I did not give God the glory for this
business. He alone gave me a gift -- the skill to work with
my mind and my hands. He has provided me with customers
who have become my friends and encouragers. To see and hear
their delight in a job well done is confirmation that He
meant for me to be a craftsman and a servant.
